Happy New Year and welcome to Films of Color.
2014 was a trying time for the Black community, so I think it’s important that we focus on and emphasize the positives.
Today is last day of Kwanzaa, and one of the principles of Kwanzaa is Kuumba, which is creativity. Our community has creativity in abundance, and I hope to shed some light on it.
It’s no secret that Black filmmakers aren’t the most appreciated in Hollywood, but that hasn’t stopped them from creating wonderful works of art.
Here’s to a year full of passion and creativity. May 2015 be a good year to us all, and please stay tuned.
