‘Ride Along 2’ Trailer

Ride Along ended up being a big hit in 2014, so there’s no surprise Hollywood wanted more. And now we have Ride Along 2, for better or worse. Ride Along was okay enough, so let’s hope Ride Along 2 can at least maintain the level of its predecessor. I know most people are pretty much tired of Kevin, but it looks like we’ll just have to ride it out.

Synopsis:

As his wedding day approaches, Ben heads to Miami with his soon-to-be brother-in-law James to bring down a drug dealer who’s supplying the dealers of Atlanta with product.

‘Home’ Scores Homerun

There were two major releases this weekend: Home and that other film starring Kevin Hart. Home took home first place with an estimated $54 million domestically and $101.5 million worldwide. It’s the third biggest opening for non-sequels for DreamWorks. With numbers like these, let’s hope we can see more films like this.

‘The Wedding Ringer’ in Theaters This Friday

I normally wouldn’t post about films like The Wedding Ringer, but since Kevin Hart is headlining the film and he’s popular in the Black community, I’ll include it. Kevin Hart has been riding his fame for the past couple of years like he bought an unlimited pass.

This particular film is interesting because it’s the first film that Hart has been a lead character where there’s no other Black leading character. The last movie that he was in that centered around white character was Grudge Match, which was a critical disappointment and barely broke even.

We’ll see if Kevin Hart’s streak will continue with The Wedding Ringer. It’s following the trend of Ride Along being released on MLK weekend, and that was a financial success. I guess Hollywood is trying to claim MLK weekend as Kevin Hart’s. It might be difficult this year since there’s an actual film about MLK. But good luck to Kevin Hart.

Synopsis:

In “The Wedding Ringer,” Jimmy (Hart) provides best man services for socially challenged guys, who – for whatever reason – have no one close enough to agree to stand by them on the day of their wedding. Doug (Josh Gad) a groom-to-be, has found himself in just such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy’s services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.

The Wedding Ringer opens Friday, January 16 in theaters everywhere. You can get your tickets here.

‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ is Back

Lookout housewives, Real Husbands of Hollywood are coming for you. Kevin Hart and his buddies are back tonight with more shenanigans in this scripted take on reality TV. You can never guess what the guys are going to be up to. The first half of season dealt with Kevin’s amnesia and his friends’ attempt to exploit it.

The second half of the season should be just as zany. If you’re a fan of Kevin Hart, then you’ll appreciated him playing himself.
