Empire is a week away, and now is a good time for a quick refresher course so you’ll be ready. The first season only had twelve episodes, but it was packed with a lot of stuff. Season Two seems to be just as packed, especially with the celebrity guest stars. Get caught up, and then take a peak at Season Two.
- Lucious Lyon had ALS and then all of a sudden didn’t.
- Lucious ran Empire Entertainment and was getting ready for one of his kids to take over the company, namely his youngest son, Hakeem.
- Lucious did not want his middle son, Jamal, to take over Empire because he was gay, but he ended passing the reins to Jamal anyway.
- Jamal came out to the public by remixing one of his father’s old songs and performing it at a white party.
- Jamal randomly bursts out into song at times.
- Jamal has a daughter from a fling that no one tests for paternity who ends up being Lucious’s daughter.
- Andre, the oldest son, is bipolar.
- Nothing Andre does pleases his father.
- Everyone is musically talented except Andre.
- Andre got psychiatric help, culminating with Jennifer Hudson singing away his bipolar disorder. Loudly.
- Hakeem has a new girlfriend almost every episode, ranging from his age to more than twice his age.
- Hakeem has mommy issues.
- Hakeem is beaten by a broom.
- Hakeem sleeps with his almost stepmother.
- Cookie is a ride or die.
- Cookie has spent almost two decades in prison for Lucious.
- Cookie made sure to grab her a piece of Empire.
- Cookie had a tryst with Lucious.
- Cookie had a tryst with Derek Luke.
- Cookie beat Anika’s (the aforementioned almost stepmother) butt.
- Cookie, Anika, Andre, and Hakeem are planning a hostile takeover of Empire.
- Lucious is arrested for the murder of Bunky, which he is totally guilty of.
