Moonlight explores the three stages of life for a young Black man (childhood, adolescence, and adulthood) in Miami as he wrestles with his sexuality. While dealing with the harsh experiences of life, he finds love and a better understanding of himself. The film is based on In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell Alvin McCraney.
