'Meet the Blacks' Poster

Mike Epps has been getting consistent work. He might be the Kevin Hart of the older generation. His latest project is the spoof film, Meet the Blacks, a parody of films like The Purge. Take an adventure with the Black family as they try to survive their new neighborhood.

Synopsis:

The Black family is getting out of Chicago in hopes of a better life. After Carl Black recently came into some unexpected fund$. Carl takes his family and leaves the hustling lifestyle behind for something better. Carl, his wife Lorena, son Carl Jr., daughter Allie Black, and cousin Cronut pack up and move to Beverly Hills.

Turns out, Carl couldn’t have picked a worse time to move. They arrive right around the time of the annual purge, when all crime is legal for twelve hours.

Survivor's Remorse

Survivor’s Remorse is that rare 30 minute that is actually really good. But how can it not be when it has both Tichina Arnold and Mike Epps. It gives us a refreshing take on life after a “come up,” one that doesn’t rely on stereotypes. Season Two is due to air this month with ten episodes, up from the six episode first season. You can catch the first episode here, and check out the trailer for Season Two below.

Synopsis:

Through a combination of God-given talent and north Philly grit, Cam Calloway and Reggie Vaughn have achieved fame and fortune that neither could have imagined growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Boston. But success comes with its own challenges, and the cousins and confidantes wrestle with the rewards of money, stardom, love, and occasionally, the guilt of having “made it.”

Mike Epps is looking to stir some stuff up. He will be starring in the ABC sitcom Uncle Buck alongside Nia Long and James Leisure. The sitcom is based on the 1989 film of the same name. If you’re looking for a Black-ish type family, look elsewhere. Although the laughs could be just as plentiful. Uncle Buck could help revitalize this era of sitcoms.

Synopsis:

Uncle Buck is a fun-loving but irresponsible guy who needs a job and a place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces’ and nephew’s nanny has just quit and his brother and sister-in-law need his help. His unconventional personality just may make him the right fit for the family and they may be the answer to his problems, too.
