]]> Ever since it was announced that the superhero Vixen would be getting her own animated series, we’ve been waiting in anticipation. Now, we’ve got a trailer to whet our appetites.

Megalyn Echikunwoke voices Vixen, whose real name is Mari McCabe and can exhibit the traits of animals. Vixen will be airing on CW Seed, The CW’s online channel, with six episodes. Hopefully this is just a test run, and we’ll get a live action series soon.

Synopsis:

Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe’s parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her.

Inheriting her family’s Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals – anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.

Vixen premieres August 25 on CW Seed.
